What if I know nothing about wine?
That is the normal starting point, and it is not a problem. Tell Guy what you are eating, what you are celebrating, roughly what you want to spend and anything you remember enjoying or disliking. He does the rest.
Will you just recommend expensive bottles?
No. The budget is part of the brief, and where it helps you will get options at more than one price level. Guy does not sell wine and takes no winery commissions, so there is nothing to push.
Do I get the recommendations in writing?
Yes. Every consultation ends with a written summary of the recommendations and the pairing notes, so you are not trying to remember bottle names in a shop.
What if I have a question afterwards?
