These terms cover the use of this website and the advisory work Best Wine For You offers through it.

Using this site

You are welcome to read, browse and share this site. Please do not misuse it, interfere with how it runs, or use it in a way that causes problems for other people.

Wine guidance, not a professional opinion on your purchase

Everything published here is general wine guidance. It is written to help you think about taste, food, occasion and budget. It is not professional advice for any specific purchase, investment or collection decision, and you should use your own judgement before you buy.

Services and quotes

Anything described on this site is an outline of what we can do. The scope, timing and price of your work are confirmed separately in writing before we begin. Wine purchasing, delivery, venue, travel, and other third party costs may be quoted separately depending on the experience.

Bookings, payments and cancellations

Fixed price services are paid in full at the time of booking, through Stripe. Larger or bespoke engagements are quoted separately, and the payment schedule is set out in that written quote.

You can reschedule a booked session once at no charge, as long as you give us at least twenty four hours notice. If you need to cancel, tell us at least twenty four hours before the session and we will refund you in full. Inside twenty four hours, or if the session is missed without notice, we cannot refund the fee, because the time has been held for you and cannot be resold.

If we have to cancel or reschedule, you choose: a new time or a full refund. If written work has already been delivered and you are not happy with it, tell us within fourteen days and we will either put it right or refund you.

Intellectual property

The text, photography, design and other material on this site belong to Best Wine For You or to the people we license them from. Please ask before reproducing anything beyond normal personal use or a short quote with credit.

Third party links

Some pages link out to other websites. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their products or how they handle your information.

Limitation of liability

We take the work seriously and stand behind it. That said, wine is a matter of taste, and we cannot promise that a recommendation will suit every palate at your table or that a particular bottle will be available where you shop.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with this site or with work booked through it is limited to the amount you paid us for that work. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for the cost of wine you buy from someone else on the strength of a recommendation.

Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site means the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute arising from them will be handled by the courts of that state. If you think something has gone wrong, please email us first. Almost everything is resolved faster that way.
